Mars Hill University

Mars Hill University is a small, private liberal arts university just north of Asheville, North Carolina. The University recently launched their new Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) and requested our team’s expertise in both advertising and higher education. The CEL is working to increase enrollment, and we know that begins with telling their story through a strong foundation of branding, direction, strategy, and marketing. With this in mind, our team conducted research to identify specific areas of improvement in the organization’s current marketing strategy, then determined that a consulting project would be the best fit to help the CEL meet their enrollment goals.

Our team pitched a four-month hands-on consulting project in which our team would develop a comprehensive marketing and recruitment strategy with recommendations for targeting areas of improvement and drawing on the program’s strengths. To launch the project, our team visited Mars Hill’s campus in North Carolina and met with members of the CEL team to complete a thorough needs-assessment. After a full day of learning the program’s needs and goals, we had a strong idea of who they are, who they want to be, and how we can help them get there.

Our team quickly got to work, producing multiple deliverables including a website audit, a brand kit, and a social media calendar for all platforms. This project allowed our team to merge our expertise in both higher education and advertising to provide Mars Hill’s CEL team with a product that will help the organization reach its goals. Mars Hill has already started to implement the marketing plans we provided and are confident that it will support them in reaching their recruitment and enrollment goals.

Upon completion of our work on the marketing strategy guide, the CEL also requested our help with a follow-up project: completing a short recruitment video. We are excited to continue to assist Mars Hill and the CEL in telling their story through strong branding and marketing strategy.
