The Client
Mars Hill University is a private university founded in 1856 and serving over 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students. It is located in the city of Mars Hill, North Carolina, (just outside of Asheville) and offers around 35 majors.


The Charge
The Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Mars Hill University is a newly formed division on campus, offering a unique academic concentration, minor, scholarships, and hands-on experiences. The center was seeking to build a marketing plan that would result in increased awareness and new student enrollment for the 2024 recruitment cycle and beyond. To start this process, they were looking for a partner to build brand strategy, conduct a website audit with actionable recommendations, and develop a social media content calendar, strategy, and training plan.
The Deliverables
Through this extensive project, Shull Media Partners hosted multiple intake and feedback sessions with the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership team. The SMP team involved in this project included individuals with broad production and creative backgrounds, website development expertise, and extensive experience in higher education recruitment and marketing. The resulting deliverables included a full brand strategy document, a sub-brand strategy focus on the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership team, a website audit, a social media strategy kit, and a social media content calendar.

The Results
With the in-depth deliverables, research, training, and consultation offered by Shull Media Partners, The Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Mars Hill University was able to take these deliverables to their internal marketing and admissions team and put these into immediate action to positively impact the Fall 2024 recruiting class. Website and social media recommendations were implemented quickly, and brand strategies were rolled out to prospective students within their recruitment funnel.
